Dropped back down to road after bagging Disappointment and San Gabriel, then walked the blacktop to the top of Wilson for third peak of the day. Rescued two girls who had come up from Chantry Flat without realizing how far it was.
Drove to the top to make it 3 peaks for the day. Nice sunset views over LA area.
Hiked in midst of a winter storm: rain on most of the trail, snow at the top.
Left from the Mt. Wilson trailhead in Sierra Madre. Was definitely harder than I was expecting...I think partially due to the heat. I ended up hitting Mount Harvard, Hastings Peak, and Jones Peak on the way back. Kicked my butt as I wasn't prepared for the amount of vertical or time I would be out there. Pretty sweet though.
First ascent, moderate hike with a lot of gain, very hot at the bottom.
Have hiked to the summit a few times before from different sides, the last time on a cold and rainy November day 2011 from Chantry via Sturtevant and back via Upper Winter Creek.
Was a nice fall day, sunny and 60 degrees on the top. The Old Wilson Trail is still one of my favorite ways to do it, a great workout!
Saw 3 (!) rattlesnakes slithering across the Toll Road.
end of the world? i was in the perfect place for it.
My expectation is to always see hikers or climbers on peaks. Struck me as odd to see all of the cars!
Climbed with Rachel Tobias and Seth Gudmunson from Chantry Flats
Group hike for a friends birthday! Dig the cosmic cafe on top.
First big hike and summit for my 11 year old. 16 miles round trip with 3900 feet of elevation gain. Always enjoy Stopping at Sturtevant Camp.
Run this so many times it is not worth putting a date down. Typically up from Chantry and down the Kenyon Devore (Rattlesnake) or Sturtevant trails.
you look down on la and think "man, those people are breathing dirty air"
then you realize you live in la
cool peak. towers are neat. i would like to check out the observatories.
practically empty. there were 3 cars and only one person who was doing things in the snack shack.

First time on this hill. What a fun and challenging hike. Great training for bigger stuff.
Roundabout way up and down in the fog and rain. Nice day with LOTS of people.
Nice easy trail with great views of the LA Basin from the ridge.
Climbed this baby many times. Trailhead is walking distance from my front door. Don't know what I'd do without this mountain nearby.
Have come up here a variety of ways. The views are OK.
