After an initial attack of vertigo, I am enjoying this page. After whining about being in Ohio, tis a real education to see a genuine state high point. Your'e doing great, The dog and frog are real attention getters
Thanks for the tip regarding the lat/lon coordinates! This is the first mountain page that I have done on SP, so any comments will definitely help me out.
The Directions have been added. Everything I've read indicates that the church doesn't mind people parking there. It currently isn't in use except for weddings and funerals primarily for the Driskill family.
Interesting summit but believe it or not I have done a smaller summit. Well done and good photos. Like the photo with the flag and the ice axe. Hope to see the Arkansas summits soon.
As a resident of Bienville Parish living within a few miles of the "Bump" I enjoyed your post. As residents we often take the forests, fire ants, and outhouses for granted.
As for as the posting of Hurricane Evacuation Route signs all the way to Arkansas; you would understand if you were present when the majority of LA's population, which lives below I-10, all started heading north on the same day.
This hike can be pretty straight forward if you park by the cemetery and follow the dirt road and then the logging road to the summit. Once at the summit, there is another trail that leaves it. Do not take that trail, as it will lead you to a closed gate in the middle of the woods about a half mile downhill. While it is a short hike, bring plenty of water in the summertime as it is quite hot. This was State highpoint #5 for my sons and me, and our recording is here: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/louisiana-driskill-mountain?u=i

Untitled CommentNice work. I think it's great to add the state highpoints to SP, even if it is only 534' high. Don't forget to complete the "Getting There" sections.

Untitled CommentThis is quite an excellent page for this low-elevated mountain. I climbed it in 2002, and I am impressed with your page.
