Nice Dedication

Very sorry to hear about your father. You've given him a very nice dedication.

Re: Nice Dedication

Thanks Augie. It's a very weird deal but it is what was dealt. Look forward to your next peak page. Love the San Gabriels, even though it just beat the crap out of me today. Twenty years I have been hiking in them and still the brush can really ruin your lofty plans. Ryan

So where were you hiking?

Re: Nice Dedication

I was trying to redo a old hike of mine up Chalk Peak near Lytle Creek. The whitethorn is dense and 10 or so feet high. The big problem was the fog came in real thick and took away all reference points, so I was crawling and smashing through brush for two hours doing circles. I know a better route that I'm going to do later this year on a clear day. Have you hike on the backside of the eastern San Garbiels much?

Also truly sorry

about the passing of your father. I looked at '135driver's
pictures, and he has some neat USAF planes pictured. Also,
in a recent post you told me you're searching for wrecks in
the desert. Is your work with the military out of Ridgecrest?
That's facinating! I'm glad you have a passion for planes,
and I'm wishing you much luck on your outdoor adventures!

Status Update

The fireroad (and one would assume all nearby roads) has suffered storm damage and is now passable by 4WD only. The summit area is overgrown with brush and the highest boulders are not reasonably accessible.
