One hit, one vote. Only one picture too. Nice work as always.

Good stuff! Wish we'd had time for a few climbs on our trip in '99!

Great page! Almost makes me want to go back and climb Mt. Goethe this time. Almost.

Gentle Piute Pass!

I skied out of Piute Pass in mid May of 2019 and with some bush whacking, was able to ski all the way to the campground at North Lake. I've been over Lamarck Col several times out of North Lake, but three days ago (May 26, 2020) was the first time I had ever taken the trail to Piute Pass. The trail starts out easy in the cool trees by the creek and has some mellow sections higher up, but I found it to be mostly steep, hot, and rocky. Not at all an easy trail. It probably wouldn't have been so bad without skis, boots, skins, crampons, ice axes, ski crampons, food, clothing, and shelter, etc. for three days, but I would say that trail is much harder than from Glacier Lodge to Second Lake, which is the same distance. Don't get me wrong, it's a good trail and the canyon is beautiful and it gives one access to a bounty of backcountry goodies, but it ain't easy!
