Good basic information, and a nice peak to have on SP. When I was looking at it from Kyanjin in 1991 it gave me the idea that I could actually climb a small Himalayan Peak, and I went to Mera 3 years later.

Hi Nelson

Thanks for your comments. Interesting that you went into Langtang before going into the Kumbhu, have you been back since Mera? Any plans?

Brian, Actually I was in Khumbu in 1977, on a 5-week trek from Lamosangu to Dharan via Everest BC. So the 1994 Mera trip was my third time over there. In 1998 was a Kangchenjunga trek (see my Peak 5950 page),and in 2002 the Makalu-Everest trek over the Sherpani Col. No further plans at present. Cheers, Nelson

A bit shortish but still a nice page. Try the following command at the top of your route description section. Then it really helps to support the route info ;-)

It's nice to see more one of many Nepalese Trekking peaks. Nice beginning of this page, put more text, informations and photos (if you have it). All the best!

When did Tilman and Lloyd cross the Ganja Pass/La?

Thanks for the vote. I've "extrapolated" Tilman and Lloyd crossing the Ganja La from The Seven Mountain Travel Books (The Nepal Himalaya/Langtang & Jugal) in which they describe their travels of 1949. There's a sketch map of the Langtang Glaciers showing Kyanjin and the pass above it with a route trailed towards Kathmandu which is clearly the Ganja La.

Thanks.

The reason asked; I read an expedition report written by a Japanese climber and I wondered if they may had been there earlier than Tilman and Lloyd, but no. The place must've been so wild back then.
