Wonderful, Gangolf! Can't wait to see all fruits of your holidays.
To keep you busy - remember, I allways take care of this with you - when you have time, you MUST see the program, which Dave Smith gave us to insert Google interactive maps on our SummitPost pages. In many cases you will not need to draw maps any more. It's easy to use, in a few seconds it generates for you a few lines of HTML code which you cut/paste on your page. To learn it - see this thread (among 'General' threads). And see some results on my pages, for example Hochalmspitze.
Thanks Vid! So far I have ignored your ongoing discussion about the maps. I have had a look but didn't spend enough time on it. But when trying the Carnic Alps there were problems with the border. I could either see Italian or Austrian peaks. Not both at the same time.
And I kinda like the schematic maps we both have been doing. They are more understandable (in a way) than any "real" map.
Seeing a photo posted of the mountain, I then went to the page (I think the Dolomites are so aesthetic & awesome!), & was impressed as usual. Sehr gut gemacht!
skiing: in my guidebook Rosetta is described as a short and easy trip. Main goal for ski touring there is Cima della Vezzana - the altipiano itself is too flat!
No kiss here - kissed the rock on Monte Pelmo - threw myself down a gully with a double summersault - and came out of it black and blue and bruised. No nice experience!

Untitled CommentThanks Mathias. You're probably right about Rifugio Rosetta. I'll do the changes tomorrow. It's too late now...

Untitled CommentVery rugged mountain. I hope everyone doesn't take the cable-car up.

Untitled CommentThanks. I'm afraid 98% take the cable car and the stroll up the plateau. It's just like Moro Rock - far too easy to avoid :-)

Untitled CommentGreat page with very nice pictures. You must have gone far away from the cable car. I don't think I saw people in your pics.

Untitled CommentThanks Nader. I tend to leave people and buildings out of the photos. But I had to crop one shot ;-)

Untitled CommentWhile you were gone this site sucked. Now that you're back, it still sucks....sucks up mountains like a vacuum cleaner.
Did you kiss the Rosetta stone?

Untitled CommentI'll be expecting my marmolade in the mail any day now. If you've got time to create this page you've got time to mail my marmolade.
Glad to hear you lived through that surly gully.
