Same here as Missouri. How ironic that this page is snagged and then placed in the hands of a member of the group associated with the "trash to adopt campaign." Since everybody is so concerned with "appearance" let me say this "appears" rather self serving.
My previous comment was intended to be in reference to the group as whole, not to the page maintainer in particular. As discussed in email I have said my piece on it and would erase the previous comment now, but I am unable to do so. Colonel please feel free to delete it as you see fit as the new page maintainer.
Well constructed and maintained page. I am sure it would help me get to the top. I think the resistance is from the whaleback shape of the mountain but a lot of folks climb it and it's obviously a grandstand for the surrounding region.
Great page! Just curious: Is the actual height of Huron 14,003 or 14,012?

Thanks for the 4 star vote. Huron used to be 14,003 but a recent survey of the 14ers ( last year I think it was) increased the height for most of the mountains so that 14,012 is now the new official elevation.

Wrong Mileage
Maybe nobody looks at these anymore since nobody has commented in 16 years. Summit post is very helpful when researching climbs. However if you’re going to post mileage than it better be at least close to being correct. It is NOT 4 miles RT from the 4WD TH at South Winfield. It’s 7 miles. Big difference! The sign at the TH even says 3.5 miles to Huron. This is how people get in trouble on the mountain

Untitled CommentThis is a fine example of a Colorado 14er page. I am very impressed with the maintainers interest in the page. This page has significantly improved.
