Was Road #361 to Yankee Boy Basin not open/plowed?

Unlikely. Sounds as if he started at the trailhead marker/kiosk well down into Canyon Creek.

better late than never, ehh?

The road is typically plowed just prior to the Senator creek crossing, marked 9,142' just below the switchbacks. I parked at Thistledown, 8,750' because there is room to turn around and park a trailer there. Jason drove above to Senator, and that is where he got into trouble with the trailer on the ice, it's pretty steep in there. I've sold the Tundra now and have found peace with it.

nice Daniel, How'd it go?

I just got up there again myself yesterday (3/25/12). Followed some mighty big boot steps up the rib left of the Lavendar Couloir... yours? This was my eighth time on top and my 7th calendar month on the summit of Mt.Sneffels, I love it up there!
