Hiked on February 6, 2016.
Surprisingly shady after the first couple of miles, with lots of oak, fir, ferns, and flowers to keep the long slog enjoyable and fun.

Fantastic local training hike
Bottom to top and back again. The trail is super obvious, but I'm hoping to capture more of these on GPS, so here is the Garmin Connect for this hike. The mileage seems a little under reported. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/272275117

trail conditions were great. i started at 11am so it was very hot as the first 1/3 is exposed. the first 1/3 is also where all the people are too. top 2/3s are quiet and quite pleasant.

To the top
Went up the Mt. Wilson Trail came down the firebreak across Hastings Peak to the connector trail between Bailey Canyon and Little Santa Anita Canyon. Then down to the Wilson Trail and on back to the car. Nice loop.

Backyard trail
First peak I bagged upon moving down to LA. It was snowing near the top, it made for a happy return.

Nice Hike!I did this hike a few years back (don't remember). Great views from the top over the entire LA basin. I guess we were lucky and had a clear day.
