Came from Big Water with my dogs. Had to run back down with a storm on the way.
From Millcreek along the GWT. Had a nice bull moose siting on the hike up.
Hiked this one from Guardsman Pass Road after doing Scott Hill and Silver Benchmark on the way over with Michael & Tim Escbenberg.
Don't remember the exact date, but I started in Millcreek and went up the Great Western Trail, then bushwacked to the summit and followed the ridge back a ways.
Hike in from pinebrook is nice and gently with switchbacks. Great for biking.
bushwacking. wear long pants and/or gaiters if you don't like the tickseeds in your socks!
The trailhead name says it all. With massive snowfall this winter, trail following Mill Creek was one creek crossing after the other. Then, on descent, my wife and I were drenched in a thunderstorm that produced hail and flash-bangs a quarter mile above our heads on the canyon ridges. Good times. A great low-impact hike in normal conditions.
My first hike up to Murdock Peak was in September 2003 with the WMC.
With MM. Started out on the west side of Grandeur. Did Grandeur, 7868, Church Fork Peak, Mount Aire, 8490, Millvue, 9020, 9074, Murdock, and assorted other minor bumps, finishing at the base of the Canyons Ski resort. A lot of bushwhacking and mushy snow.
