Great trip report! congratulations on reaching the summit! It sounds like the mountaineer's route has MUCH more exposure than the Main Mt. Whitney Trail, which I hiked to the summit and back on May 29-31. I was curious as to what the last 500-foot scramble to the summit looked like, but I guess that section was too dangerous for any pictures?

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I think, in the last 500 feet, all we were thinking were - avoid a fall, IN ALL CASES !
I have not done the Whitney trail, but have heard that it is pretty strenuous as well.

Hi I just was going to do the same trip at around yours time, did you need to use snowshoes? and how cold was it?
