You're kidding ...

That's a lot of snow for the first week in June. Did you see any moose ?

I did not see any moose unfortunatly. I did see some bear-prints in the snow neaby my tent though. Im kinda glad I didn't meet that guy in the middle of the night. I was amazed as well by the amount of snow still up there. I was sinking through to my waist in places. There was snow solidly from 10,000ft up.

Well, I haven't been there since '82, but isn't that where Dollar Lake should be ??

I'll bet you a dollar that bear wanted a
piece of the action.

Dollar Lake is about a half mile south of this spot. You have to cross the brushy swamp to get to it(and when i say swamp i mean 2-3ft deep water, my boots were soaked). Dollar lake was frozen over still.
