NC Smokies from AT

This is an atypical view of the Smokies in that there's no haze. But otherwise, it's a typical view in the high country. It's not the snow and ice of the West, but I hope it conveys why some of us love the place. Photo taken from the AT about halfway from Newfound Gap to Mount Kephart. April 2010.
