Neretva i njen kanjon su sami od sebe prelijepi, stotine izvora, slapova, kanjon na nekim mjestima jako dubok, voda totalno pitka... samo sto u tom momentu nisam imala vodootporni fotoaparat, tako da su slike svedene na one napravljene za vrijeme malobrojnih pauza tokom raftinga

Wha a shot!And what a river! I actually remember another face of it - heavy rainfall, rocks (closer to Mostar probably), cars and parts of the railway creeping/flowing downslope into the river - the little kid got really scared on the bus - must've been August of 1969
BTW Can you swim in the river?

Yes, Neretva flows next to the road Sarajevo - Mostar, but this photo is taken upper, out of any main road :)
Yes, it's possible to swim in the river, but it's pretty cold even in the warmest summer.
I believe if there are no plants on downer part of Neretva, it would be the most beautiful river in Europe and maybe even in the world.

Re: What a shot!I was on Tara as well, but I believe that only marketing made that river more popular and known than other rivers in Bosnia... The canyon of Neretva is not less deep and definitely it's much more beautiful than canyon of Tara...There are real walls around, you have the feeling you're really in a canyon: http://www.stream.cz/video/138707-neretva-rafting/...

Maybe I am making you bored, but after I visited all rivers in Bosnia (Una, Vrbas, Pliva, Bosna, Sava, Trebižat, Tara - as that nicest part of Tara is in Bosnia, Neretva, Drina, Lim...), I just can't believe that somebody can compare Neretva with any other river except maybe Una (but it is a different kind of river, with different beauties)

I've watched the video and read the article (while hiking around in Romania and Bulgaria 30 years ago the only guidebook available was a Czech one; anyway, all our languages are Slavonic - while planning a trip to the Prokletije (not made yet), I didn’t have much difficulty understanding the gist of the Serbian texts) and I must say I've come to believe you're right about the Neretva (just the wrong guess was that you were boring me:))We have nothing comparable here, except the Dunajec gorge (SP page by Visentin), but it's absolutely packed with tourists in the summer. BTW Talking of Bosnia's rivers, I've read "The Bridge Over The Drina" (in Polish)

Yes!This is a very inviting scene and a unique one. Love the narrow glacial blue river, steep walls and the green rounds it out.
