New Mexico Agave

A New Mexico Agave (Agave parryi ssp. neomexicana) near the Robledo Range by Radium Springs, New Mexico. A flowering stalk up to 10 ft. in length appears after 8-20 years and bears clusters of yellowish, tubular flowers on lateral branches. After setting fruit, the entire plant dies. Photo taken 6/2/07.
