OJI  Sucess!

Climbed with Coe and the Brothers via the Marston Trail from Slide Dam. A rainy day with no views whatsoever. A long, hard slog through wet and muddy trails. Will come back here someday and climb it on a good day to see just what exactly this mountain has to offer.

YES!  Sucess!

The North slide is excellent with some low fifth class possibilities, just a bunch of fun, great approach and an excellent slide! Great views os Doubletop as well! summit was very beautiful. I have self proclaimed the longest echo ever while yoedeling towards Mt. Coe.

North Slide trail  Sucess!

Lower slide wwas steep and uncomfortably mossy and wet (even though it seemed to be a dryer day than usual, judging by low water in streams we passed). I was scared enough to put my camera in my pack so it wouldn't get in my way. Upper slide much easier by comparison, once we noticed the detour around the step at the bottom. Old North Slide trail still mostly easy to follow, loved the approach through open woods (didn't love the part just below the slide, where it's walk in the stream or bushwhack).

Part of a traverse with Coe and the Brothers.

OJI  Sucess!

SE Slide up, NW side down. The unique slides on OJI have always been intriguing. Good to finally hike this one.

This mountain was pretty tough while the storm Bonnie was around. We got a really good alpine start at 2:30 p.m. and sunset was at about 7:50. Good walk in and up the slopes. We had two youngsters aged 8 and 10 and we were a bit uncomfortable at reaching the wet slabs around 5:15. My daughtet did this at age 5but we had a dry day with good visibilty then. There are split logs for bridges in the first 1/2 mile. They feel like ice when it's raining.
