Ominous Cloud

This cloud(not sure if it qualifies as a Lenticular cloud)along with many more appeared in the late morning, and by mid afternoon had us scrambling to put up our tarps; however by late afternoon they started to break up. This shot was taken from Confusion Lake on the outer edge of Blackcap Basin in Sierra National Forest, looking northeast toward Mt. McGee and the Davis Lakes area. The ridge on which Confusion Lake rests is a shoulder of Mt. Reinstein, and provides excellent views of Mt. Goddard and Goddard Canyon as well as the distant Evolution Group.
