On the summit of the Steinberg : perfect !
This summital platform is corresponding to the summit of the Steinberg, located over Obersteinbach (Northern Vosges). With an altitude of 384 meters, is this point of the Steinberg massive, the highest. From thereover, you will discover a magnificient panorama, falling deeply in a junglual canopy. The summit is very wild, excellently good preserved, with a very rich flora. But, unfortunately, is the access (in fact, the climb), to this savage summit, very hard and technical : the novices are not welcome here, you need absolutely to have climbing notions, before tempting to climb this rock ! The site is totally unsecured and the access to the site is unmarked ! But, the rocky element here, at the Steinberg, is very interesting to see : beautiful colors and erosions, very picturesque forms and sculptures, very wild and rich vegetation, cracks and overhangs for climbing, old traces of a wood-castel, very spectacular summital panorama, ...
