Orion and a Big Dog over Elk Mountain
Despite a nearly full moon just outside the image frame, Orion and Canis Major (Big Dog) show up brilliantly over Elk Mountain in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, OK. As I was setting up for this image, I could hear a late-season Elk bugling in the distance. Imaged in mid-Oct 08.
