Crews 1 and 2, barely seen in the image, give scale to the massive granite boulders that are exposed on the western reaches of the mesa-like summit of Elk Mountain in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, OK. Apple and Pear, their destination, is still about 1/4-mile away behind the photographer. Imaged in Oct 08.

Such an interesting landscape!

Most of us back east would not imagine this terrain in the Wichita Mountains. Thanks for taking us on a field trip with your troop!
