Overview of the route

This photo taken from Mt. Sneffels shows the easiest route up Cirque Mountain. The trail is marked with some infrequent cairns, and is visible at places, but the route finding is pretty obvious. This photo shows only the higher part of your hike, the lower section - hiking into the Dyke Col is not visible from this angle, but is pretty obvious from the 4WD route. Most of the hike into the Dyke Col is on grassy slopes with some infamous San Juan scree higher up.
