There is no routes and links in their sections. Please add them. Good work with the books and the equipment but this mountain deserves to add more info of everything. Not give in.

Do you know who and when first climbed the east face (in Tibet) of Everest? I can't find any info.

The first mention I can find of anything involving the east face is in 1980. A Japanese expedition lead by Hyoriko Watanabe summited the north face, on the same trip Yasuo Kato did a solo of the Northeast ridge. Reinhold Messner partially followed the northeast ridge the same year when he opened a new route on the North face.

I see mention of a first climb of the East face by an American team. Carlos Buhler, Kim Momb and Louis Reichardt made the summit in 1983. The fact that it says first by an American implys that someone had done it before. But I see no clear note of who and when that was.

I hope this is of help. Cheers William

Sorry again for having freaked out, William! I hope, Josh will change the vote soon to a 4 star vote, what I asked him to do some days ago on the board and via mail. Cheers, Rahel

Yes this would be great. I have asked Laurie Skreslet for Images of his summit in 1982 and he has agreed. I hope to receive them soon. and then I will have images of all the camps (south col) and west ridge. These should help. Cheers William

Good work, very informative.

I would like if it is possible that you add if it is possible a section with some remarkable mountainers (for example Meissner) that they have reached the summit without oxygen necessity and the added difficulty that it supposes it.

Regards.

Juan

Thanks. Yes this is a good comment. I will add something about these and others climbs soon. The trick is I have to sit down and put it together in such a way the no one claims it was stolen from another site. I just have to have the extra time. I will get on it soon. Cheers William
