"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

pitkin traverseMount solitude first and then onto Peak X. Pitkin TH parking lot allows only 3 hrs of parking, but luckily nobody checked.

Direct west ridgeLots of snow on the east side of Usable Pass still so we opted for the class 3 direct ridge traverse. Fun scramble!

X and ZPeak X is one of the better Gore Range mountains. Climbed over Usable Pass from a camp between Solitude and East Partner with Mike and Larre. Usable Pass is steep and unpleasant. Over the pass one encounters pretty easy scrambling to the summit in a remote setting, which makes Peak X memorable.

XYZSecond time up X from Pitkin, continued along ridge to Y and Z then back across the basin to Usable Pass and the Pitkin Creek trail. From X the ridge looks very intimidating, early on dropping left was necessary for 2 or 3 large steps on the ridge. Then you can stay on the crest pretty much all the way to Y and on towards Z before 2 towers just before the Z saddle had me dropping right.
Repeated this traverse plus Z Prime with Rachael and Craig on 8/14/16 as well, 3rd time up X.

ZYX TraverseTraversed to "Peak X" from "Peak Y". Pitkin/Usable Pass approach. Typical Gore goodness!

From Y and ZEnjoyed a solid ridge run from Peak Z and Y on a bluebird day. This traverse is easier than it looks from Y with only a few towers on the ridge to drop off for. We went right when difficulties arose. Y was my favorite summit of the day.

Pitkin TraverseClimbed along with "Skiers Pt", "Climbers Pt", "Solitude", and "Vista" on a nice long ridge traverse from the Pitkin Creek side. Beautiful clear day for a ridge run!
