Riffelsee  Sucess!

We took the train from Zermatt up to Gornergrat, and then on the way down we made the short hike form Rotenboden to Riffelsee. Despite the crowds, there were nice views of the Matterhorn reflecting in the lake.

Land of many delights  Sucess!

I'm including the date of my only montane summit so far, Mombarone, but have also walked in the Val d'Lys, Val d'Ayas, Val d'Ayasse... Lucky to have family there who know the culture and who are far better mountaineers than I will ever be.

Pennine Alps  Sucess!

By far my favorite subrange within the Alps. Climbed and skied many peaks centered from the Zermatt and Saas Fee areas.

First Alps adventure  Sucess!

Went to the area for the week, good weather on the first half of it but soon went down hill. I look forward to returning.

Numerous visits dating back to 1980

My most visited and favourite part of the Swiss Alps. Have summited on around 15 peaks above Zermatt and Saas Valleys, some 2-3 times. Best climbs Trifgrat on Breithorn, Tasch-Dom traverse and Matterhorn Hornligrat.Have failed on a few - most annoying being Weisshorn, which has eluded me 3 times.
