I'd vote for Dana. This Bob Burd picture from the summit of North Peak sure looks similar:

The mystery photo is clearly taken from a lower elevation, maybe above the Conness Lakes but that ridge in between sure looks similar. Don't have the patience to play around with Google Earth to figure out the angles, but it should be possible to make sure...

Here it is blown up. Remember this is probably from the '20s and I'm gonna guess near a road end. John Paul Edwards wasn't known to be a mountaineer and was probably lugging a heavy view camera.

Dana from Gaylor/Granite Lakes fits with my recollection of this otherwise seldom viewed astonishing profile. Also, very close within a couple of miles of the (new) TP road/entrance station, as surmised. FYI, I couldn't locate the pic cache containing your submission on your site link.
