4 Season Tent: MSR Remote 2 or Rab Latok Mountain 2

by TommyMtn17 » Wed Jun 06, 2018 3:44 pm

Anyone have any experience with either of these tents? Mainly looking for a 4 season for PNW and Colorado climbs. The remote looks super livable but just wondering if it will be overkill (and too heavy) for 2-5 day objectives. The Rab Mountain looks great on paper but haven't heard any first hand experiences with it.

I know they are pretty different type of tents, but just curios as to which you all would prefer for PNW/CO.

Thanks!

A good tarp, like the Mountainsmith https://www.rei.com/rei-garage/product/ ... tkQAvD_BwE.

I climb a lot in the PNW, own a number of tents but use my tarp 90% of the time, even in winter. Cheap, light, plenty of room, stable in winds. What more could you want?

I've got a Coleman tent, that's the one I've got at the moment: https://www.recreationid.com/coleman/co ... 61232.html
They've been making quality tents for years, I've had the previons one for almost 10 years, cannot show it to you as it was discontinued years ago...
