Unless Chief sees mattski's post about Delicate Arch, both directions of this thread are this:

In my one truly serious post on this thread before this one, I said I wasn't playing the judge, and I'm still not, and you said you appreciated my words.

So I have to disagree with what you've said. People have provided several legitimate reasons not to climb Ship Rock, legality and respect for cultural beliefs being chief among them, plus the idea that not everything has to be climbed just because it's there. You have chosen to dismiss them. Just because you disagree or because others have done it doesn't make it right.

Your only sound reason to climb it seems to be that you wanted to.

What we have here is a sharp difference of perspectives, and maybe even of generations, though some posts are exceptions to that idea in both regards.

Again, I'm not sitting on the throne and judging you. But you're wrong in saying that nobody has presented a reason not to climb Ship Rock.

(Note-- this is again as a member, not a moderator; don't read anything more into this beyond what I've written.)

Yep, he's wrong all right, but his tone says he's young and he's "right!"

Oh it is dead alright.

Both Mattski's and Franki's outspoken and complete ignorance, sealed that fate.

I'm going to bring this thread back to life, but only because
these dude's "know-it-all attitude" shouldn't be a viewed as a shocker.

After all, isn't it the SAME generation that brought us this ??

Uhh, no. Beavis and Butthead first aired in the early 1990's. Franky would have been much to young to be doing any animation then! I know all us young whippersnappers are hard to keep track of, but you gotta be able to tell your Gen X from the Gen Y.

And.. when I fart, it goes "BOOM BOOM!" Yep, kinda like a freakin' cannon going off.

TMI, you old fart. You're going to level up to "curmudgeon" status if you're not careful.
