In case anyone is interested, I recently posted a trip report about climbing seven of the Arequipa area mountains, it is here:

Very cool. Brings back fond memories. We climbed Chachani and Misti on a 3 month south american blitz a few years back. Seems much drier now. Still amazing. Congrats on a fine adventure.

Thanks, it was a great time. Glad you enjoyed the report. Yes, there is quite a bit less snow on the mountains than previously according to the locals, and others who have climbed them in years past. El Misti seldom has snow on it now, and it melts off quickly after a snow storm.

New mountain page - Sabancaya, and trip reports

by Vic Hanson » Sat Aug 02, 2008 3:07 am

I just added a page for Volcan Sabancaya, right next to Ampato, as well as a trip report on both. Also a new route for Chachani recently.
