Baja California Almanac - availablity update

by Jesus Malverde » Thu Sep 09, 2021 7:10 pm

Hi folks,

FYI update on availability of the Baja California Almanac and the Baja California Peninsula Detailed Topographic Map (Fold-out, 2015 version):

"Landon died, and although he had completed (or nearly completed) the maps in early 2015 he did not get the chance to publish it.
I have posted a digital copy of the updated book and fold-out map here on the website for personal, non-commercial use. They are both flattened/rasterized.
There will not be another printed copy of the map book or fold-out maps.
The book was assembled from the files Landon was drawing and editing. These maps were not proofread and may contain mistakes. The fold out map has visible notes still visible to update certain items.
If you’d like to donate a small amount of money to help with the hosting costs of this large file please click the Donate Button and make a small contribution."

Please visit the website http://www.baja-almanac.com/

The Almanac file size is 76 MB
The Fold-out Map file is 47 MB

FWIW, I have the printed version of the 2009 Almanac and it's an adventure planning/visual feast.
I would download these sooner, rather than later as these sites have a way of disappearing quickly.

Be safe.
Be well.

JM

The 2021 "Baja California Road and Recreation Atlas" was released in June. It somewhat replaces the old out-of-print Baja Almanac. While there is a lot of new and updated information on the rapidly changing peninsula, the atlas is perhaps better suited to driving and tourism than for hiking/wilderness activities.
