Bolivia Climbing trip with photos

by Alasdair » Wed Jun 23, 2010 4:09 pm

Hey folks, I just got back from a 3 week trip in Bolivia. This was my first time to Bolivia, and I highly recommend it. The country is great. Both the mountains and the city. All the photos are up on my blog.

Enjoy...

Nice pictures. I am the guy you were chatting with at the airport about Illampu. Let's stay in touch about Illampu next year. I bet haliku could be interested as well.

Did someone say Illampu??? I hate having unfinished summit attempts on my list...

Congrats on your summits Astro! Can't wait to hear the stories.

Nice photos, thanks for posting them.

It looks really, really dry there compared a 'normal' June. Would not like to see it in August.

It seems Peru is also relatively dry right now, and there does seem to be a La Nina in progress. Good thing you got in early, and a good reference for future seasons.

I also have unfinished business on Illampu - I'd say a few people do! :)

Holy crap those are some good photos.

Astrobassman - did your fancy new camera produce anything like that or are you going to have to study the user manual?

Pequeno Alpamayo

by OceansInferno1181 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 1:44 am

Wow, I love those pics! I am in Bolivia now and just finished climbing the Direct Route on Pequeno Alpamayo over the weekend! Absolutely stunning!! Great photos, an amazing country! It was awesome to spend a month here climbing in the Cordillera Real and Occidental!!!

I agree with some of the above posts...did someone say Illampu? That now sits atop my wish list for Bolivia!!!

Loved your pics- thanks for sharing them. I need to get a clue with my (lack of) photography skills. I can't wait to go back to Bolivia.
