Brainard Lake Road Conditions

by Bill Harr » Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:46 pm

Has anyone been to the Brainard Lake area recently? We are hoping to do Mt. Audubon this weekend (4/25/10) and are wondering if the Brainard Lake Road is dry enough to bike up to the lake/Mitchell trailhead.
Thanks

I did Mt. Audubon on April 12, road was well snowpacked far from being dry, still lot of snow on the road, no snowshoes needed but very soft on some spots. Be prepare for major postholing, i'm talking about waist deep.

I was up in that area yesterday. The road is completely covered from the winter closure to the Mitchell Lake TH.
