Breithorn still possible?

by cryska » Thu Sep 28, 2006 9:46 am

Just wondering if anyone knows when the last possible chance to climb the Breithorn is? Is the middle of October out of season. It would be my first attempt at a 4000m peak.

Thanks in advance.

Breithorn normal route (from Plateau Rosà o Klein Matterhorn) is an all season mountain, the only problem is after a big snowfall: it becomes tiring

I agree completely - I've climbed it nearly a dozen times all around the year.

The only thing I can add: In the case of lots of snow, make it a ski tour. Then it's lots more enjoyable than on foot!
