Very sad story. My condolences.

There has been alot of avalanche activity in the alps recently. In france over the weekend 3 killed in the aiguilles rouges, 1 lost near Flaine and 1 in Oisans.

This may not be the right place to say it but I find the ease with which the Italian (and also French) authorities mention manslaughter in these situations quite troubling.
