Capitol Peak

So what do Colorado members think will be the earliest "summer" conditions for Capitol Peak this year? I know snowfall wasn't heavy this year prior to this last system coming through. Up here in WY we got 15" out of that one. Would late May be doable?

In late May Capitol will probably still have some snow. Doable, but unlikely to be "summer conditions." There are some trip reports here that might help give a better idea: http://www.14ers.com/php14ers/tripmain. ... ov=0&dec=0

The Elks still have a decent amount of snow. The Elks, apart from other parts of the state almost always retain deep snow. The range is like a friggin' lint trap.
If you wanted 'mostly dry' conditions, I'd wait till June to be honest.
