Cora Lake

by sierraman » Fri Sep 19, 2014 1:58 am

Any one planning a trip up the Isberg Pass Trail should be advised that the only water between the trailhead and Sadler Lake is at Cora Lake. Cora Creek, Granite Creek and Chetwood Creek have all stopped flowing. That situation is not particularly unusual, however a herd of cattle has taken up residence at Cora Lake (apparently due to the lack of water elsewhere), depositing copious cow pies around the lake shore and otherwise negatively affecting the wilderness experience. We had several cows come straight through our camp last week. Water from Cora Lake should definitely be filtered or disinfected. On the plus side, I didn't see a mosquito the entire week I was there.
