creation date

by visentin » Tue Aug 24, 2010 9:35 am

I suppose it would be easy to implement, to make the creation date of an object change to the current date, when an album or a custom object is turned into a peak or a range (only in this direction, not the opposite).
Why ? Because many of us start a draft of a mountain, it takes few days, and when we sumbit it, it doesn't appear in what's new unless we do it again from scratch. Same with albums, I started many peaks or areas just by gathering photos and realizing later that there is material for a more detailled page.
Thanks for considering this improvement

Since they don't make many changes these days, consider this: I and some others here have a custom object where we do the page layout ahead of time. When finished, we copy the material and post it as a new page. You can ad your pictures there as well.

Here is mine: http://www.summitpost.org/custom-object/307131/page-workshop.html.

That's what I do as well. The main goal of my suggestion is mostly to avoid the hassle of reattaching the pictures again. I often use other's pictures to create peaks, and when there are a lot it's really time-wasting to refind them one by one.
But if they don't make anymore changes...

I understand your point and agree it would make things easier. But after several years on this site, I've realized that changes like this almost never get made, so we have to seek the best alternatives.
