I like what he did with the approach skis. Been thinking about a similar setup for a while.

yeah. i kept looking for short approach skis with step in, crampons style bindings for awhile. coudln't find any, so i made my own. they work great!

going to have to buy all new stuff eventually though! trying to get some cash for a new dslr

I agree that the shortski's probably aren't of any use in deeper powder.

I think the main idea with that setup is transport to and from the climb. Probably not going to crank real turns with speed, but, as a method of getting down from the climb, cruising at a decent speed, rather than snow-slogging, I think they're probably the setup. One of them, anyway.

looking at either the nikon d3000 or the canon xsi. they are the best i can get in my price range right now. just not sure which way to go! ????
