Echo Summit trail access

by SpazzyMcgee » Fri Jan 07, 2011 11:35 pm

I've been looking around for any sort of trail access in and around Echo Summit on Hwy 50. It looks like the old Sno-Park just to the west is now some kind of "adventure zone" that charges like $20 to park for the day, which I find somewhat obscene. Does anyone know of a good parking area around Echo Summit with trail access? I don't mind paying $5 for the regular Sno-Park charge.

I think there's a Sno-Park at Echo Lake
Not terribly convenient if you are heading south...

Try driving 0.5 west of Echo Summit and pull off on the north side of Highway 50. You will have to cross Highway 50 on foot and backtrack a little.

Thanks. Turns out it's called the Echo Park sno-park and it's off of Johnson Pass road about .5mi before the summit.
