When there are mosquitos between your glasses and eyes, and you have to spit every few minutes, the dress and buzz away no longer work. But I can even take photos looking through the relaxing head net.

So, a gender issue ? Not sure if the skeeters care about the specific gender of their host.

I used to have a co-worker who liked to spit, but they had a nasty habit of shoving chewing tobacco down their gullet.

You sound really hardcore; those blood-suckers don't stand a chance when you're around. My hat's off to you.

That's okay, Mister Duke. I was NEVER a big fan of that "on topic" B.S. .... YES, I saw them in their golden moment, but looked like they were
wearing "Skin-So-Soft" before it all got sweated off amongst the Heat of the Moment ..

Tweeting the wrong thing about mosquitoes can get one banned.

Going with the werewolf look should help guard against mosquitoes. There are more options to choose from than one might think...

...and the above only takes what is available in London into consideration.

If you wear enough silver the werewolves will be repelled and the skeeters will have trouble biting, but that seems like a heavy and expensive solution.

It's finally time to watch Bolt on 10 hours time delay. Oh well, the waiting is better than being chased by mosquitoes.

Yep, I learned a wee bit about chemistry ...

* Gold and silver medals are 92.5% silver.

* Gold medals must be plated with at least 6 grams of gold.

* All Olympic medals must be at least 3 mm thick and at least 60 mm in diameter.

Geez, I didn't know that ....

Yep, and in dry years or after an early cold snap, late July and August are nice. With snow lacking, I was out in May before the mosquitoes this year. I didn't use any repellent this year, but I did dodge a few skeeters in the Sierra in late June through early August. Now I'm hoping for a warm and dry fall so it easy to get out up high beyond September.

Last time I was in the Sierra, a couple asked me about the mosquitoes at the lake I'd just come from. So I asked them where they were from.

"The Adirondacks" they said.

"Almost nothing" I answered.

The Cold November Rain is an excellent repellent for those nasty buggers ...
