Finding partners for moderate climbs and treks in Peru

by aierez » Sat Apr 07, 2007 4:29 am

Hi,

I've decided to head to Peru mid July through ?? How easy is it to line up some safe partners once I'm down there? Interested in some moderate climbs in the blanca like pisco, urus, ishinca and would really love to climb Chopicalqui. Also would like to trek in Huayhuash.

Thanks,

Amir

depends if you're from LA and speak Persian !
just kidding !
You'll easily find climbers to team up with at that time of the year in Huaraz. But to know how safe a partner is, and the approach to such assessment is indeed very personal.

Suerte en la montana,

Also depends on how much time you have. If you're flexible and can hang around Huarez for a little while you shouldn't have too much trouble. People are always posting notes looking for climbing/trekking partners in the Casa de Guias, especially for the peaks you mentioned.
