Few people will buy used climbing rope. There is generally no way of knowing how many hard falls a rope has taken.
If it still has the tags and original wrapping, people might be more likely to believe it is "unused."

I buy it for pennies on the dollar for anchor purposes for toproping. No way would I buy one for lead unless I knew the climber really well along with the history of the rope. My life is worth the $50 extra to buy a mid range new one.
