don't worry about it. Jigsaw is super easy to find if you know what to look for- plus the scree-kick-step-footprints are a good tipoff. ;)

Hi, I would like to attempt Picture (from the North) and Gendarme on Saturday.

How difficult is the route between Picture Puzzle and Gendarme Peak? Harder than class 3? Route finding sounds intense, is there a good description somewhere? I can't find it.

Also, how hard is Jigsaw Pass to locate from the East? Is there any documentation on this? Or any photos?

Deb, did you get a chance to tag these summits?

The annotated map by Bob is very useful. As is Reiner Stenzel's trip report (for info on Picture Puzzle, North Face).

Any suggestions highly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks! Missed that somehow. So seems the Picture Puzzle to gendarme section is class 2 if we go to bottom of the chutes.

Good luck! I'll update this thread if I get any good info about the route.

Things change. Good luck!

Thanks for the update regarding the 4x4 post (now missing). I updated the Gendarme Peak page to reflect this.

Vitaliy M wrote:MoabPeakBagger has a profile picture on something called "Treasure peak" according to him. I recognize it as a summit block I climbed during Sierra Challenge. On the maps for SC it is called "Bear Claw Spire." I am not saying someone is wrong, but just trying to find out what is the real name since I want to create a SP page for this nice peak...?

They are one in the same. The name Treasure Peak comes from the benchmark at the summit labeled "TREASURE". I don't know where the name Bear Claw Spire comes from, but that is the one given in Secor's book and usually (though not always) the most commonly used.
