Guinness worthy record?

by graham » Wed Jan 13, 2010 5:53 pm

Certainly very impressive

Will Gadd from Canada completed an astonishing 194 laps of the 40-meter Pick O’ the Vic (WI4) during his “Endless Ascent.” In this 24-hour ultra-marathon of ice climbing, a fund-raiser for the dZi Foundation, Gadd climbed about 25,500 feet of near-vertical ice — surely a Guinness-worthy record. 8) Here's is photo of Pick O' the Vic (not of Will Gadd)

What an animal! I assume he top roped the entire time? If he leaded the entire time, I'm just gonna quit climbing, take up ping pong and buy Will Gadd superhero underwear.

I believe he TR'ed it with a different belayer every hour. He also took a break every hour to drink/eat/piss etc.

Still...

Amazing. When I'm there I consider it a good day if I get 1,000 feet of climbing in!
