My completely unscientific opinion is that when you first feel a cold/flu coming on, you should rest completely and give your self a chance to fight it. Then after a few days, when you start feeling better, some physical activity helps speed up the healing. Seems to work for me. Just be extra vigilent about staying hydrated and fueled up.

Well crap, looks like I get to follow my own advice. Started loading the truck last night for a 3 day climbing trip and got feeling feverish and weak. There's been some crud going around work and it's looking like it's my turn. Going to hang out for a day and see how I start feeling.

Oh, and I second what everyone said about staying home if you're having GI issues. Once spent the better part of a night on the floor of a Forest Service outhouse. Yeah, it was as bad as it sounds.
