But they've only got info on one route for this mountain for which gear would definitely be required and I think not advisable for your brother. Have flown easy jet a few times, they normally don't cry if you're one or two kgs over the limit but you have to pay extra anyway to check baggage on in the first place.

Expect the weather to be beyond changeable and it'll more than likely be very cold over 3,000 by end of october. Average temp. down in the valley at that time would be about 6c, expect it to be well below freezing higher up. The hut will be closed too.
