First thing I see is a guy climbing over a barricade with a Do Not Enter sign. This seems to be the start of bad things in the valley lately.

I'm against the "man" as much as anyone and did not offer an opinion because I believe it's situation based. I personally would not climb over a barrier in a National Park that says "Do Not Enter."

Kinda funny that if you tilt your head in the right direction hanging rock looks like the one finger blow off in that pic.

It says "Danger: Do not enter" , it is not to protect endangered wildlife.

Why Galen Clark did not put such sign there?

The last thing climbers need is the government to protect us from ourselves.

If the only reason for the sign is to protect careless people from falling off and killing themselves, then ordinarily I would advocate for your right to take your life into your own hands. Yosemite is a really popular tourist spot however and when people do stupid things and die (like ignore the signs and barricades above Vernal falls, go wading, and get swept over, which happens regularly) it upsets tourists and turns into a media horror show about the dangers of the park. The park authorities don't like that and you can understand why the rangers would err on the side of caution.

If I recall there is nothing directly under the overhanging rock aside from the Glacier Point apron but if there were someone or something that your body (or a piece of gear or dislodged rock) would hit and damage if you fell then the park has more reason to enforce the sign. It's one thing to kill yourself if you ignore the sign, it's another thing if you kill some bystander in Curry Village. And yes, I am a climber myself and I know that other climbers or tourists can be injured by rockfall or other objects coming down from climbers above - but climbers are generally aware of that risk.

And while I like the views in your video, you might want to edit out the part showing you stepping over the rail and the "do not enter" sign when you post it on a public forum. Park authorities do sometimes use the internet and while the chances of you personally getting in trouble are slim, it's the kind of thing that can be used to justify more restrictions, enforcement of signs, barriers, etc.

What caught my attention was some asshole throwing something (trash, no doubt) over the edge.

Otherwise, a pretty worthless bit of self-promotion (some guy showing us what a bad-ass moron he is).

An apple stub. Perfectly biodegradable.

Did not Rosa Parks ignore a similar sign?
