Spent Friday night in the Alabama Hills and awoke to low snow on the mountains and low ominous clouds. Hiked from Horseshoe Meadows to Cottonwood Lakes under partly to mostly cloudy skies and cool to cold temps. Saturday night/ Sunday morning was just f**king cold but by Sunday afternoon it was sunny and we were bumming around camp in shorts.

Crazy weekend weather.

OH, I had an awesome trek from Onion Valley to Road's End on Saturday! Love the "different" conditions and elements. Ran into 6" of snow on the other side of Kearsarge Pass; lots of drifting. I think it finally stopped snowing by the time I got between Vidette Meadow and Junction Meadow....THEN the bears came out! WOW!

Good to hear the bears were up north. We were swarmed by marmots!
