Anyone climbed the eastern side of myojin san, direct out of kamikochi (not as part of the yari hodaka circuit)? I believe there is at least one pitch at grade III. Anyone know if this is avoidable. Would like to do a solo ascent if it's not too committing.

has anyone gone to nepal recently? i'm concerned about the heightened political insecurity there. heard that the annapurna sanctuary trail wasn't safe anymore. was wondering if the same goes for the EBC trail. i'm heading out there in november.
I am doing some work in China in September (lecturing in Shenyang, north of Beijing) and want to extend my trip to do some climbing. I climb 5.8/5.9 (UK: HVS; french 6a) and would like to know if anyone has any ideas on where you think would be the best place to go in that grade? Thanks!

Do you know somone the climbing fees for the peaks in Pakistan for the year 2005? Is it possible to climb a peak without permits? Have somebody did it?
Does anybody have any good information on some relatively short (3-5 days) trekking peaks in Pakistan? I have about a week or so to kill in Pakistan this March, and would like to trek/climb for a few days if possible.
