Hi !

I am thinking about subscribing to the 36 days mountaineering leadership program by the american alpine institute. But before that i want to make sure it is a good school and a great course. Any of you did it ? Is it a good way to improve technical skills ( i already a some experience on easy and moderate climbs and i will take a 8 week-end course here in quebec and in ...

Could it be possible for an individual to summit every ranked peak in the world in a lifetime? I'm talking about all of them including the 8000ers and all the volcanos. I think that there could be close to like 300,000 ranked peaks in the world, but I could be way off. Is it more or less that that?

I've sorta made a goal to complete all the summits in the world and I'm just ...

I'm stuck in bed with the flu and would love to watch some good mountaineering videos that can be found online.

Does mount Elbert get a lot of snow in early November? Are snow shoes a must at that time of year? Also the 4WD part of the road that leads to the south route - when does it close for winter?

One would think this is such a simple concept for retired, well educated (read-been around the block a time or two), folks to comprehend. Rednecks, well sure, I am fully aware of the dog and cock fighting crew. Been around my share of those folks in the deep south. But I have observed two very interesting phenomena, well over a thousand miles apart, both occurring with retired, appear to be well educated, individuals.
