Yellow Aster Butte Page

A few weeks ago, suddenly and mysteriously, I found myself to be the owner of the Yellow Aster Butte page. I know there is some drama surrounding the SP member AlpenDave and from what I can gather, all his pages were redistributed to other members. I have just finished renovating the page and also added a route description. I would appreciate any ideas for how it could be further improved. Thanks for looking. -Adam

Rope classes offered in Portland?

Is there a place in Portland that teaches rope courses, for rescue? Same with ice pickets/screws. It's one thing to carry rope and tools on the mountain and another to know how to use them.

Thanks,
Paul

Ice in the PNW?

I'm relatively new to the area and I was wondering where I can get some moderate water or alpine ice and when it comes in. I'm itching to do something over the Thanksgiving holiday but I'm not sure where I can get my ice fix. Any ideas?

the beckey guide mentions steep heather slope traversing for the west route, (miserable).
it looks like if needed the southwest peak of fury could be skirted by dropping down a ...
